Our Shark Tooth Bracelets are the perfect thing to show off the love...

Why we love them...
We just love sharks for so many reasons, but mainly because they are paramount to our eco-system. They represent majestic beauty, strength, the magnificence of our oceans and remind us who really is the biggest fish in the sea. They have elicited fear and savagery thanks to Peter Benchley & Steven Spielberg, but thanks to recent efforts by our marine biologists, scientists and broadcast series like Discovery Channel's Shark Week, we are getting more and more educated on their behavior and importance to our planet. Unfortunately, they are still needlessly hunted for their fins and as trophies which is hard to believe in this day and age. With more involvement and education, we can help protect sharks to ensure that we do have a healthy eco-system for generations to come.
You have to admit though, every time you set you foot in the water, your imagination goes out right away to the mighty finned ones---it's just natural. What's interesting is that Benchley's book and Spielberg's movie Jaws also started our fascination with these creatures which is still evident now. At the end of the day, sharks are just too cool and we can't get enough of them!

Here's the skinny on our Shark Tooth Bracelets...
It has always been very difficult to find shark-related bling out there. The stuff you do see out in the marketplace is either too kitschy or in poor taste. It's very difficult to see shark teeth on a necklaces that you know come from illegal hunting or sourced from reckless fishing. It's just not cool and really does go against the whole point of showing off any love for the ocean.
Our Artisan wanted to change it up and make bracelets that are inspired by these magnificent beasts and by the places that they inhabit. Plus, these pieces had to have a real coastal/beach/ocean vibe to them, be made with components that most have never seen before and have a true connection to sharks. More importantly, he only uses ancient, fossilized shark teeth for his bracelets and not ones from sharks swimming in our oceans today. So, have you ever seen a bracelet with a big shark tooth on it before? You do now...
When you sport one of our Shark Tooth Bracelets, you will definitely get noticed. Maybe it's the bravado you feel when wearing one or the coastal vibe you are putting out. Either way, people will just gravitate to this HUGE shark tooth on your wrist. And yes, they are very comfortable despite their "sharp" appearance. These bracelets are also made with other components from the sea like shells, stones and recycled sea glass. And of course, every bracelet is hand-made and one-of-a-kind so you'll be the only person in the entire world sporting the design.

Here's a BIG difference.
Our Shark Tooth Bracelets are made with BIG fossilized shark teeth. Our Artisan NEVER uses shark teeth hunted or fished from our living friends in the sea. He ONLY uses fossilized teeth from reputable sources. The fossilized teeth sourced are from the Otodus Obliquis species dug from the earth in the Kem Kem region of eastern Morocco. These sharks existed 50 - 65 million years ago and are known as the earliest mackerel sharks. Their descendants include the Megalodon, Great White & Mako. Hey, you actually are wearing a living relic!
For every item you purchase, Islands To Highlands will donate a portion to Island Conservation. See the wonderful things they do at www.islandconservation.org

Our goal with these bracelets is to give you a real connection to the sea so you can show off your love and appreciation of sharks. One of our customers (Nicholas from Porto, Portugal) recently said this about his Shark Tooth Bracelet: "I've been rocking mine out in the wild - definitely a head turner." So go check out these bracelets for yourself and get heads turning...especially your own.
