Antequera, Espana is one of the best places to take your camera to...ever! It is known as the Florence of the Andalusia and the surrounding hills just rise up and look like something out of The Old Wild West. Everywhere you look, you are in awe and things just hit you in the face wherever you go. If you go there in late Summer, expect to get hit by the crazy heat as well---aiyiyi! Along with your camera, make sure to pack a couple bottles of agua while exploring. Winding your way 'round the narrow cobblestoned streets searching for the many amazing cathedrals & churches, the oasis of a fort, the imposing statues and the small city squares takes a while. Lots of thanks go to those cafes located in those tiny city squares because those overhanging trees offer a relief from the baking sun. One of the best places to hit-up is the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa Maria La Mayor. The 13th century front facade is a place you want to stand in front of with a camera! If you go there late in the day, you can have the courtyard to yourself and what a wonderful place to just chill and marinate. Ok, to the dang bracelet. The Picture Jasper and Dyed Coconut Wood remind you of the surrounding landscape and cityscape. The Grainy Wood brings in that old world flavor and the Small Bone Mala Skull represents the Poet Pedro Espinosa (statue in the cool courtyard). The Large Jasper Skull is interesting---the stone patterns remind me of your head swirling under the sun while looking for one of those cafes to get a cold one. BTW, one of the coldest and best Alhambra Beers ever found was in one of those squares. You'll dig this piece and get to Antequera if you dare!
