This bracelet is based on two separate trips to Hastings on the coast of England and to Bayeux which is located in the heart of Normandy, France. What connects these two places is the Battle of Hastings in 1066 which did change the course of the world. Norman The Conqueror invaded England in 1066 and met King Harold in a field near Hastings. Okay, enough of the history lesson. However, exploring two areas that are connected is really cool right? The area near the battlefield (Battle) is in the countryside and has an ancient abbey and a cool little town to explore. Hastings is that typical seaside coastal town with a big pier and a GREAT place for fish & chips. On the other side of the pond in France is the ancient town of Bayeux. It's basically the place where the Normans took off from to England. Bayeux is a very cool & hip place, has great shopping, has an impressive cathedral and is the home of the famous Bayeux Tapestry. This piece is made with Kiwi and Dalmatian Jasper to represent the two places and an Antique Coptic Cross that has a very heraldic look to it. The Carved Yak Bone adds to the medieval feel of the bracelet and the 2 Bone Mala Skulls are a shout-out to Norman and Harold. The bracelet has a nice heft to it and a modern, yet old world look. It's perfect for wielding a sword or lifting a pint!
