Bom Bom is a tiny island in the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of West Africa and is located near the north coast of the island of Príncipe (one of the main islands of São Tomé and Príncipe). It is densely forested, surrounded by beautiful turquoise seas and there are only 15 residents that reside there. It literally looks like something out of the South Pacific. Obviously, it's way off the beaten path which is what makes it appealing. If you happen to get to Príncipe by airplane, you can walk across a long wooden bridge to Bom Bom Island to the remote resort. It's a great place to relax and to check out the secluded beaches and the surrounding reef. This piece incorporates some of the colors you will see there. The Recycled Glass and Pottery/Clay Beads resemble the colors of the Príncipe and Sao Tome Flag. The Puka Shell, Olive Wood and Crocodile Wood remind your of the dense forest covering the island and a Limpet Shell might be something you kick-up on the beach. The Two Bone Mala Skulls represent you and a companion sharing the experience. This looks like a bracelet you may have bartered from a local street vendor. By the way, Bom Bom means "Good Good" in Portuguese. Might be a good place to check out eh?
