Years ago, there was the coolest AT&T Wireless TV commercial about a guy from the city who keeps calling the wrong number which rings through to a beachside bar in Fiji. The guy who answers the phone keeps saying "Bula Vinaka Beachside!" It was a hoot and became a catch phrase when answering the phones back in the day. Don't ask me how this came to mind, but when I was making this island piece, that ad popped right back into my head. In a way, the ad and this piece represent where you need to be. It's not about being stuck in the daily grind of a busy life but kicking back at a bar in the tropics sucking down fruity cocktails and soaking sun rays. This piece was made with Kukui Nuts and Carved Yak Bone to give it that island flair. I added a Large Bone Mala Skull to remind you to keep your head screwed on right and a Vintage Asian Coin that you can always flip to the bartender as a tip for making that killer Mai Tai. This bracelet is lightweight, feels good on the wrist and is as Tiki as you can get. Kukui Nuts do have a therapeutic feel to them...to me they are the South Seas meditation beads. You'll definitely look and feel the part as you sport this bad boy. Check out the ad on the web if you can find it. By the way, “Bula Vinaka” is a Fijian expression for “Hello, Thanks.” That's what life is all about isn't it?
