Jerome is just a head trip. It's smack dab in the Black Hills and overlooks the famous Verde Valley, Arizona. It started as Copper Mines in the 19th century where is thrived for years. After the 1930's it slowly became a ghost town and laid dormant for years except for an occasional biker bar occupying one of its dilapidated buildings. Over the next couple decades, it slowly turned into an artist’s haven with tons of galleries, hip restaurants/bars, wineries and some other funky little shops. It reminds you a little of the mountain villages in Tuscany with how the brightly colored building cascade down the hill. And talk about views---bring your camera because you will not be disappointed! This bracelet was made in remembrance of driving through Jerome during the late 1970's when it was still a dusty ghost town. The Large Hammered Copper Beads are a shout-out to the old mining days and the Picture Jasper reminds you of that mountain landscape. The Crocodile Wood and Yak Bone give it an old Spanish flavor and the Large Bone Mala Skull represents the artist spirit that runs throughout the town. It's a place well-known by the locals and if you are running between Prescott and magical Sedona, drop by Jerome for a drink and wander the streets. Like I said, it's a trip.
