Minicoy is a gorgeous little island off the southwestern tip of India in the Lakshadweep Territory and is located is the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea. Minicoy (known as Maliku by the locals), means Women's Island by the ancient locals. The island is part of an atoll with a beautiful lagoon, white sandy beaches, a vibrant reef full of marine life and is almost completely covered with coconut trees. There are 11 villages on the island and one of the few landmarks is a 300-foot-tall lighthouse built in 1855.
