Mount Karisimbi is a a dormant volcano in the Virunga Mountains on the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and it's known for its habitat of gorillas and exotic plants. Even though it's the 11th highest mountain in Africa, it towers above the surrounding land like a King. Trekkers come wide and far to climb it's densely forested slopes and to have meet & greets with the gorillas...but it’s not easy by any account. It has that old ancient, mysterious look to it and sometimes you think Tarzan may come swinging out of the forest at any moment to join you for a smoke and a drink. I made this piece to represent the colors and textures of its mountain vegetation with the African Turquoise and Horn. I added an African Ethiopian Coptic Cross to represent the subtle spiritual feeling you get when gazing at Karisimbi from afar. The 2 Bone Mala Skulls "could" represent you and Tarzan hanging out at fireside spinning yarns. This bracelet looks as if it could have been given to you by a local tribesman.  Raise you glass and give praise to Mount Karisimbi just in case The King decides to wake again.  Tell Tarzan he still owes me $5 bucks---you'll probably find out to if you go!
