Port St. Johns Beach (second beach) in South Africa has been called the deadliest beach in the world. That may be, but it’s a beautiful bathing and surf spot for both locals and for trekkers. Obviously, there is conflict between man and shark, but we all know that we are on their turf and have done far worse to them in the sea that can be imagined. This piece was made as an homage to the sharks living in that spot of water. The 50 - 65-Million-year-old Fossilized Shark Tooth is seriously cool. The Carved & Smooth Yak Bone represent the local flavor along with the local cows that often frequent that stretch of sand and the Red River Jasper represents the blood sacrificed to the sea. The Bone Mala Skull is a tribute to those who have perished and a reminder that we need to protect our sharp-toothed brothers and sisters of the sea. Harmony starts with us eh?
