Cruising through the San Juan Islands by sail or by motor is quite exciting. The densely forested islands are surrounded by churning, swirling cold waters which feel like they are almost lost themselves. From the sea, the islands remind you of what the entire coastline must have looked like before man took over. It's hard to beat that part of the country during the summer months. It's too bad you just can't take an easy dip into those cold waters though...if you do, make sure you got a dry suit! BTW, it's a great place to dive and the marine life rivals anything seen in the tropics. This bracelet has an early turn-of-the-century look and feel to it. The Blackened Stainless Steel Nuts and Yak Horn remind you of the old steam ships that used to cruise the channels. The Vintage Large Carved Black Bead resembles an Indigenous Totem Pole and the Carved Yak Bone Beads add to the flavor of this region. I really don't know what the Large Carved Black Bead is made of---it may be a resin, acrylic or even polished bone.  It's truly unique and it appears that there are frogs carved into it (I found it at a local antique store in the Northwest). The WW2 era U.S. Navy Cap Badge Button is there as a shout-out to the rich naval history of the area and the 2 Bone Mala Skulls represent your connection between land and sea. This bracelet wraps and twists around the wrist quite nicely. Hope you dig it.
