Nothing brings sandy beach atolls and clear turquoise waters to mind like the Seychelles. The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean off East Africa. It is paradise on earth for all who venture there and it is truly blessed with deep blue turquoise waters and exotic sea life. It also has an eclectic mix of African, French, British, Chinese and Indian cultures that add to its unique flavor. Seeing the islands from the air is a site to behold and gets ya excited to explore the sea. This piece reflects that excitement of getting into the water to explore its peace and creatures of the reefs. The bracelet is made with Vintage West German Plastic Beads (pre 1989) that are faceted and have a little shimmer to them that remind you of the ocean's reflection. The Carved Yak Bone, Horn and Coconut Wood add the local flavor and the brief times you actually spend on land instead of in the sparkling water. The Fossilized Shark Tooth, Keyhole Limpet Shell and Bone Fish Bead are the big and small creatures of the sea. The Bone Mala Skull is there as a shout-out to the local culture. Great place to bring along your camera or paint brush if you can find the time to get out of those warm waters. Snap with your eyes.
Check out the About Artisan Page for detailed info on the Fossilized Shark Teeth used by the Artisan.
