Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean between mainland Norway and the North Pole and is one of the world’s northernmost inhabited areas. It's known for its rugged, remote terrain of glaciers and frozen tundra that has Svalbard Reindeer, Arctic Foxes along with and actual Polar Bears. Sound like a place to be? Heck yeah if you dig the cold and the forces of raw nature in your face! Svalbard has lots of whaling and hunting history going back centuries with Norsemen, Norwegians, Dutchmen and Russians. A lot of wood-masted ships lie at the bottom of the cold waters surrounding it just getting to and from its shores. Today, it has a small population that is maily dedicated to research and tourism. This bracelet reflects that lonely terrain and harsh landscape. The Black Lava Rock and White Howlite represent the huge snow-capped mountains that just spring up from the sea and the Gray Leopard Jasper has the look of the rocks on the coastline. The Hand-Carved Bone Polar Bear Bead is added to remind you that the big boys of the land can lurk about and the Bone Skull Mala Bead represents you as food on their dinner plate if you don't keep a sharp eye. This bracelet has a very clean and uniformed look to it which I like. It goes with many different outfits and has a sleek roughness to it---just like the land of Svalbard. Hopefully, you'll dig it too.
