Taos can often be described as the 'Soul of the Southwest.' It's located in northern New Mexico’s high desert and is surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (southernmost subrange of the Rocky Mountains). The main adobe pueblo outside the town was built between 1000 - 1450 A.D. and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States. In the last 130 years or so, Toas has become an artist's haven for many obvious reasons. As you can guess, there is mucho history here along with the bringing together of many different cultures. The scenery isn't too bad either. Just the backdrop of the snow-covered mountain behind the pueblo building is quite something...like a natural juxtaposition. The rich colors of the red adobe and landscape inspired the making of this bracelet. An Antique 1950's era Resin Bead is the focal point of this piece because it resembles the adobe wall color and motif of the main pueblo. The Leopard Fur Jasper Hand-Carved & Smooth Water Buffalo Bone and Pewter Silver add the Native and Spanish flavors to this piece. The two Bone Mala Skulls represent the old and new generations and the engraved Coyote on the Vintage Nickel Button has always been a symbol of the Southwest. It’s also a message to you that it's important to howl at the moon from time to time. This bracelet has a good energy to it so get it and do some howlin’...
